Archeogeophysics
Archaeological artifacts, which are our historical heritage, are often found buried underground. The fact that they are buried is the soil and similar cover accumulated by centuries and millennia. Natural disasters such as landslides, floods and earthquakes are the main cause of this accumulation. These bumps, which are formed by covering the old settlements, are called “Mounds”.
On the other hand, the graves of especially the wealthy are also under large soil covers, namely in TUMULUS.
Archeogeophysics is the study of covered mounds and tumuli without excavation. The aim of this research is to save both time and money. Antiquities have values far beyond their material value. Lifestyles, used household items, jewelry, war tools, historical documents, treaties, laws, etc. about our past. is found here. Removing them requires a lot of attention and meticulousness. For this reason, information such as the location, shape and depth of the expected works are very important. Since archaeogeophysics provides this information to archaeologists, it is a research method that must be applied before excavations. On the other hand, it is necessary to know whether there are historical remains in the areas where constructions such as hotels, bridges, roads and tunnels will be made in and around the protected areas. Therefore, archeogeophysical researches must be done.
Our company is at the service of archaeologists with georadar, electric tomography, seismic tomography and magnetic methods.
